Art photos of Cher wearing a costume designed by Bob Mackie from her 2002-2005 Farewell Tour performance of her song, "Bang, Bang" (My Baby Shot Me Down) written by Sonny Bono. This song has been updated from the sixties version with additional and updated lyrics penned by Sonny Bono for Cher as she gets her first chance to rock out on an album.
Cher is the rare singer that has been recording long enough tobe able to update and cover her own songs. Cher's first version of this song was a simple folk inspired children's tale. Now the song has taken on Rock Opera trappings and is filled with wailing guitars. This version was recorded for her 19th studio album, 1987's self titled Cher album.
Bang Bang was produced by
Jon Bon Jovi, Desmond Child and Richie Sambora.
Drums: Tico Torres
Bass: Alec John Such
Guitar: Richie Sambora
Keyboards: David Bryan
Additional Keyboards: Holly Knight and Chuck Kentis
Background Vocals: Jon Bon Jovi, Myriam Valle, Diane Graselli, Desmond Child, Michael Bolton, Bernie Shanahan, Joe Lynn Turner and Dave Meniketti

Cher dedicated this album with love to Sonny Bono with love for the first time and to John (His High Kalodness) Kalodner for making me do it again.

Coming soon a few live performance cuts of this song by Cher.

  • Is this a LIVE performance or an ALBUM RECORDING?

  • @johnrolf2006 album recording here but I have the live version on my channel also.

  • I like the fact that EVERYONE is NOT reading the video description detailing everything about this song's past first before the post stuff up to make themselves look completely retarded. "Shot me down" is originally by Cher, but this isn't the original version. She redid it. The original she did was in the 60's, of which Nancy did a cover of. This was just a rock version she did of her original song.

WHY IS THIS SO HARD TO COMPREHEND. Lol!

  • AMEN

  • this was in her concert movie

  • the best version of this song!!!

Nancy's is just lame and Cher's old version is... well, old and not made for eternity like this one.

  • that song was use in a quebec' movie.. Just figure out it this song!! I Love IT!

  • gorgeous

  • Nancy can't hold a candle next to Cher. Just 'cause she's got daddy's last name doesn't mean she's automatically a musical talent.

  • I LOVE this song...just saying.

  • too mainstream

  • @Ixistant go to check on Ania Dabrowska version, it's nice too :)
