best REM song ever in my opinion.

I'd say REM is an alternative band. During most of the 80's they were known only for some people. They have a couple of hits (Losing my Religion, Everybody Hurts and some others) but they aren't play in the radio as some other artists (pop artists). So still today they are an alternative band :)

@Xamplexp thats becaus erem is not a commercial band like much others.and they are no fake, they mean what they sing

Their lyrics manage to convey genuine emotions and trains of thought, just about everyday joys and sorrows, the way we ought to reflect about our human condition, respectfullbess, and society's flaws, levitate above dicisive mental borders and make it through. Although not a grand alternative rock band like them, try "Lifehouse" too.

Great music is great music and it can break down any barrier the music industry wants to erect. REM did it. So did The Cars, although they became a pop music machine. For purity, REM is hard to top after 30 years. I hope the same holds true for Son Volt.

I dunno I kind of respect pop from the 70's and 80's. Anyways, how is this pop? REM never gets radio time anymore, and most people don't know anything about them other than Losing My Religion and maybe one other song. I'd classify this as music.

I was going to say that this is Eoin's Fave song but someone beat me here. =( Bummer. Not a bad song though. (Not like artemis's fave :P) I Still Have'nt Found What I'm Looking For isn't bad either. =D
