11.23.2008 we went on a bus tour to Kaesong City in real, actual North Korea (and hell yea i got a passport stamp!). Happy 98th bitrhday again Jacob R.- thanks for the invite! It was amazing. It's hard to explain what you really see but can't take pictures of.

It was a trip about boundaries. There were two sides to everything there it seemed. Something behind the wall, our outside the window- even a person across the street, separated by some invisible barrier. The trip was fun, but taken very seriously at times. I don't know if it was the all-nighter before, but afterward my buddy joked he was tired from the 'emotional drain' of the whole trip.

I couldn't help but notice the right after the bus dropped us off, this whole weight lifted and freedom returned. You can take pictures of anything, get whatever you want to eat, say whatever you felt like just an hour south from Kaesong.

  • Great vid mate, very appropriate tune too.

  • Kaesong is rightfully South Korean territory so South Korea should just take it and kick the North Korean military out. Just as South Korea didn't do anything when it was attacked, North Korea wouldn't do anything and would end up ceding Kaesong.

  • Wow!!! The urban decay would make even Detroit green with envy xD

  • Shit man, good video. It seems like... Soviet Union? I think the time stopped 40 years ago there...

  • I suppose Kaesong is richer than the capital of DPRK. Moreover Kaesong is bright and has many historic places. If there is another war, this beautiful city will be broken. We should never have the 2nd Korean War.

  • very cool. does adventurekorea still do tours to kaesong? i can't seem to find it on their website.

  • very good video, thanks
