Watch scientists explain how critically important CO2 is to life on earth. Atmospheric CO2 was as much as 10 times higher in the past as it is today, and concentrations as much as 5 times current levels have not shown any adverse effects. Plants are CO2 starved and thrive when CO2 levels are elevated. That is why CO2 is added to greenhouse crop production. It is estimated that crop production worldwide has increased already by 12 percent. It is essential to an expanding human population. • @ShinyStuffingMix CO2 or carbon dioxide has a molar mass of 12+16+16=44g.

O2 or oxygen molecule has a molar mass of 16+16=32g.

Thus if we take one mole of both the gases we see that carbon dioxide is heavier.

    Therefore, carbon dioxide is heavier.

  • Is CO2 a 'Miracle Gas'?

Absolutely. Water is also a miracle molecule if you drink a glass of cold water with rocks and lemon slice in the sun but if you put your head under water and stay there for over 1-2 min the word is not exactly 'miracle'.

CO2 is a miracle when its concentrations in the air are around 150-250 ppm & when the concentrations start exceeding 350 ppm and get out of control and nobody knows what may happen the claim is 'we don't know what we are doing & what risks we are taking'

  • It would be good to know what these people are being *asked* before they give these answers. Saying CO2 "isn't a pollutant" and "helps plant growth" is all true. But saying higher CO2 means higher temperatures and completely disrupted ecosystems is also true. One does not disprove the other.

Life on earth isn't going to end. But the climates we have come to rely on will change. The places we can grow food will change. Rainfall patterns will change. Globally. That's not a concern?

  • is co2 heavier than oxygen?

  • not very bright are you? Didn't seem to say anything about the pay of teachers anywhere in my posting. You obviously have no valid argument so you resort to calling people names and taking postings to off topic tangents. "beating up principals"? really, you got that out of my posting on al gore's belief in eugenics? your "green" beliefs are based on nothing more than emotives. Perhaps you should stay in school, because it is painfully obvious that you still have much to learn...about everything!

  • Well why do you give it to them? I wouldn't submit to ANY of the laws resulting from this copenhagen SHIT!!!. I wouldn't pay a thing...for this.

  • Al gore thinks the world is over populated. By limiting our co2 output he can keep impoverished nations in a state of perpetual famine. He would rather kill those in poorer countries than increase global food production through higher co2 levels. Its all about the money. He wants money for our co2 production. That's why he is buying up vast sums of carbon credits. what a prick. Fuck him and fuck you if you buy into this global warming bullshit.

  • The whole green thing is nothing more than another heist...way to go ...STEAL ALL MY MONEY DO IT
