This is inaccurate, the North of Australia is shown glowing more than the East. There is actually far more dense population in the East rather than the North.
@frcz10 yes, city lights can actually be seen from space if there are no cloud cover, but im wondering what does the glow across Equatorial Africa means cause all of the other "night" Earth models dont show this gash of light across Equatorial Africa. I found that part of the model strange.

@scandia also theres a strange gash of light over Southeast Asia between the Vietnam/Korea Peninsula and China.
