Hurting each other is not an easy song to sing but she sung it so perfectly.

@entertainer106 "Reason to Believe" is a country song, so it has twang (as do a few of their other country-tinged songs), Most of them are "pure."

My God, she sounds so great live,

She was really beautiful, in my opinion. Also, I love Karen, but I wish she didn't use so much twang in her vocal performance.

BRILLIANT, masterpiece level, exquisite...CARPENTERS, THEYRE' AMAZING TALENTs!!!
-
I agree - but thank goodness we have some lovely live singing in quite a few clips here on YouTube preserved! She was ELECTRIC live, it seems!
-
Absolutey superb to see Hurting Each Orger performed live - great song by the matchless Carpenters

Richard should have release this on dvd. Just look at Abba...they have released a few dvds including the Abba in Japan. If only richard could release this plus others....it would be great.

Hurting Each other is a hard song to sing. It goes from really low to her high voice. You can tell because she actually changes the octive for part of the song. Still beautiful, as always!
I saw this concert, but performed in Huntington, WV, at the Memorial Field House on April 20, 1972. A life-changer for a 12 year-old. Thank you for providing access to a treasured memory. She was IT.

Instead of the endless touring (that ultimately wore them out), I wish they had performed live on television, instead of all the TV lip synching. Karen didn't need to lip synch; she sounded amazing live.
