  • @ThePaistecat WOW !

  • This is my favorite Lucifer's Friend LP, after the initial str8 forward early 70s heavy metal of the s/t and before the prog element got a little to heavy for me ala "Banquet". Scott91261's comment is right on the money. Musicianship, song writing, feeling, nobody can hold a candle to this shit. I even have a huge stack of Les Humphries Singers record I love the voice of John Lawton so much. Listen to this album and weep for the state of music.

  • Where The Groupies... is just an incredible album, every song a perfect compositional masterpiece. The tracks could be arranged in pretty much any order and it would still work artistically.

  • I wonder who played the violin solo on this?

  • @hermygagala John Lawton is without a doubt in my mind one of the greatest vocalists of all time.

  • One of the greatest bands of all time yet no recognition. What a shame.

  • @fweekstir But this was released 2 years before Kansas released their debut album. You're right that Lucifer's friend are pioneers.Certainly pioneers of Heavy Metal. I don't know why Nazareth, Lucifer's Friend, Atomic Rooster, and Uriah Heep were never given much credit for creating metal; they are most certainly some of the main creators. I am not saying bands like Sabbath and Judas Priest don't deserve to be credited as they are awesome and do deserve it I am just saying there are other's too.
