i don't see how it's vérité, the characters don't know they're being filmed and the shots don't act like the camera is another character, pretty straightforward.
Yeah, would be a morral disaster! Hollywood is simply facing movie armagedon. They either make sterile post 9/11 sentimentals, of overblown epics which ppl dont really want to watch these days. Same goes to the music industry.

in the screenplay, there's about twice the dialog that made the cut in this scene
0TT0: "oh yeah? i got a friend that's selling real fine meth. it's pharmaceutical!"
BUD: "ain't no other kind."
