Ramadan Iftar Celebrated at Jewish Synagogue

Iftar is the evening meal where Muslims break their daily fast during the holy month of Ramadan. It is also an occasion increasingly used by interfaith activists to help cross religious barriers. Recently an unprecedented Iftar was held at a Jewish synagogue in Washington DC. It brought together followers of different faiths in support of a service initiative announced by President Obama in his Cairo speech last June. Mohamed Elshinnawi has more.

Yea only in America. If Jews wanted to pray a hebrew service in the mosque in Jerusalem, do you think it would be permitted? I dont think so. Nice piece of inter-religious press for president obama and the obviously liberal jewish temple that accepted this idea. However Christian churches do visit Jewish temples on the Sabbath services and vice versa. It would be nice if this was idea of inter-religious unity would be accepted by members of mosque communities.
