  • Nice fish. Always remeber to have a gun or shark hook onboard. A fish that size trying to gaff it can throw you into the H2o. Good job though.

  • Thanks for your comment. That was our friend Jim's very first fish he ever caught in the ocean. It was within the first 10 minutes of being out there, we were totally surprised and unprepared. We now keep and use harpoons on the boat. Have a great day. Juliette

  • tickling it with a knife? haha come on now.. not trying to be a prick, but you still had a looong time while he was fighting it to decide how to handle the fish when he came to the surface.. Could have fashioned something that woulda worked. all that aside, nice fish and good job hooking it.

  • you've gotta gaff it in the gill plate!!!!!

  • Wow i have no idea how you guys managed to keep that fish from gettin away after as long as it took you to finally dthing do something with it. just remember to keep a harpoon or a 20 gauge around, use 3/4'' slugs. nice halibut keep it up.

  • Thats a huge fish. The fish really put up a fight. Did you take it home and eat it? Really cool.
