Several brave Re-Enactment groups representing units from Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky, and Kansas endured the scorching temperatures to entertain Izard Cuunty history-buffs with a re-enactment of the January 1864 Skirmish at Lunenburg.
Thanks to all the dedicated re-enactors who put their hearts and souls into their duty to preserve the civil-war era culture.
Thanks also to Roger Harvell who almost single-handedly brought this event together. An event greater feat considering he went through a dry-run for the original date on Pioneer Day last!
So... to Roger, the re-enactors, and all who helped pull this fantastic event together...In the fashion...and spirit of civil-war troops honoring those they respected:
Hip-Hip-Hoorah! Hip-Hip Hoorah! Hip-Hip Hoorah!
