  • A pentatonic is indeed a 5 note scale and is comprised of the following intervals of the major scale: Root, 2nd, Major 3rd, 5th and 6th. If you play any further notes, they'll just be repeating the same again but an octave higher

  • I am a relative beginner and am abit confused about the Pentatonic Scale. I am not sure how you place it. Do you play just 5 notes or 7 which would include the first two notes of the next postion?? It is the Penta (5) that confuses me. I have memorized the patterns across the frestboad for major scales. How do I relate this to the penatonic??
