This was captured from http://culturebox.france3.fr. This shows Jannick Top being interviewed at a guitar festival in Issoudun, France in October 2008. For me, anything with Jannick Top is worthwhile!

In my first comment, he said "conception rythmique".
So translation is : "However in my opinion they do not insist enough on rythmic conception".
I should have heard it, but since Jannick really speaks low.
I would have never guessed neither he's actually from Marseille nor he has this little Southern France accent. Big surprise for me^^

"Bass is really an instrument which is really about foundations.
When you come in a house, you forst look at the house itself, decoration, everything.
Everything except what the house is built on.
Bass provides this notion of foundation."
Translation of Jannick's words^^

What I would like to teach/transmit is the notion (how could I call it) of a certain conception of rythm.
Because there are excellent guitar, harmony teachers, I speak about general education.
However, in my opinion they do not insist enough in "misheard and not intelligible enough adjective" conception.
This guy is one of my musical heroes- is there an english translation available?
