Kenneth Tarver live in concert.

"Kenneth Tarver spins out Ferrando's stratospheric music with sensual ease".
Tim Ashley, The Guardian, November 2001

The American tenor has appeared in the role of Ferrando at The Royal Opera Covent Garden, Bayerischer Staatsoper Munich, Teatro San Carlo Napoli and Staatsoper Stuttgart. Other Mozart roles in his repertoire include Tamino, Titus, Belmonte and Don Ottavio (this last role was that of his international breakthrough at Aix-en-Provence in 1998 and as sung on the recent Rene Jacobs recording of Don Giovanni)

COSI FAN TUTTE - Mozart, Royal Opera Covent Garden, November 2001
"Isokoski was partnered by Kenneth Tarver as Ferrando. Since he is one of today's leading Rossini tenors, neither the range nor the technical demands hold any fears for him, which made one regret more than ever the traditional cutting of the treacherous "Ah, lo veggio": he could have sung the socks off it, as he did his other two arias".
Rodney Milnes, The Times, November 2001

  • Why? Because of the power of the Media. Certain tenors with recording contracts are highly pushed and proclaimed as unrivalled while others with just as much talent are ignored and even kept out of leading opera houses so as not to crowd the field. Trust you ears, this tenor is first class and deserves to be better known!

  • omg this is beyond beautiful.

    it's divine.

  • Glorious - gives me goosebumps!

  • Many a great, even legendary tenor, both and present, has floundered attempting to sing this beautiful aria whose simplicity, like all great art, belie their difficult creation and execution. But K Tarver is definitely an exception here. The first three entry notes are damn important and will decide the success (or failure, as the case may be) of the whole attempt. Excellent.

  • Kenneth....you have the voice of a true angel. I hope to be a singer like you one day!

  • What a wonderful singer!

  • I had to look up his biography. He looked so much like a tenor who sang Belmonte to my Osmin years ago. Sounds like him too. But he's too young. The date's don't work.

    Damn! He's good.

  • This is the man who personally got me into opera. He deserves all the acclaim he can get.

And by personally, I mean I actually started singing because I met this guy when he was in Detroit and he inspired. He's wonderful both on and off the stage.

  • He sings Arbace on Jacob's Idomeneo. The part is insignificant and usually atleast one of his arias are cut but he sings both of them on the recording with such beauty that you couldn't imagine not having them. Check them out.

  • Wow! Now that's a Mozartian tenor!

  • just added him to my favorites

  • This is wonderful!!
