@RooseveltSteinway That was a completely unfounded and slanderous rumor started back in the 70's, obviously by hard-up, sexist fucktards like yourself. That rumor was, coincidentally, one of the major events that led to the girls writing Barracuda. Who is the dipshit now?

Well said, I regret that I can only give you one thumbs up!

@indredcold69 The McCain/Palin ticket didn't follow protocol in order to ascertain whether the band was okay with the use of the tune just shows how inept they would have been in leading the country. Who's blowing out their ass now?
-
Whatever... The Wilson sisters didn't want the song used, even though they were getting paid for it, because they are Bolsheviks. The Dixie Chicks were crucified by their FANS! You don't get to be a Bolshevik in Nashville, not and still make a living. She exercised her right to free speech and her customers took their business elsewhere. Basic cause and effect. Natalie Manes evidently wasn't smart enough to get that.

@micmore007a There was never a need for this to become a legal matter. The Wilson sisters sent a very respectful cease and desist letter (much different than a C&D ORDER - know your law). The McCain campaign had not the legal obligation, but certainly a moral obligation to stop using the Wilson's song to promote someone they objected to. Aside from morality, how about a little simple courtesy and return of the respect shown toward the McCain campaign in Ann and Nancy's letter?

@2attached I can't find a radio station that will play that new material. They're on tour with Def Leppard. People go to see them play the hits from 25+ years ago. Therefore, it's retro. Heart should look at the Dixie Chicks as an example. The fans want to hear the music, not some dopey liberal blame America rant.

Also, I have to say, "Barracuda" belongs to HEART. My God, it is such a part of their history, was written by THEM about something totally different than anything political, it was about a jerk guy who made demeaning remarks to them being women in the men's world of music. Does not apply to Sarah Palin AT ALL. This exactly why I loathe politics. But for her to use Heart's song to her advantage was 100% wrong!

@csmpeoil Heart is in NO WAY a retro circuit! Have you had your head buried in the sand for the past year and a half? Their album, Red Velvet Car, debuted at #6. It kicks ass! Ann & Nancy have ALWAYS been very open and outspoken left-wingers, especially Ann. I honestly think it stems from their childhood, especially Ann's at being pretty much oppressed by her ex-Marine father. My father is also ex-military (I love our military) but some ex-m dads are too hard on their kids.

@EsClayWilson and like most leftist nutters, you are as devoid of logical or evidentiary support as they come. You really don't have to go any further than Coons' record or public statements to determine the dude is marxist crackers. And Castle's defeat to a "teabagger" can only be attributed to the left's fondness of a rino -- per your amusingly admission heretofore :) Thanks for the feedback. I needed a good laugh this morning. Now, go play with yourself; I have to floss my cat....

@EsClayWilson... and that capitalist system allowed Heart to pro$per. they should lighten up. who knows, that sort of exposure could possibly get them off the retro circuit. and who's against private property? well, it would be no other than your red-horned hero Barry Hussein who's against private property -- see, e.g., Great Outdoors Initiative. Conservative talk radio would be nowhere without liberal listeners like you and independents.
Sarah Palins views and values in NO WAY represent us as American women. We ask that our song Barracuda no longer be used to promote her image. The song Barracuda was written in the late 70s as a scathing rant against the soulless, corporate nature of the music business, particularly for women. (The barracuda represented the business.) While Heart did not and would not authorize the use of their song at the RNC, theres irony in Republican strategists choice to make use of it there.

Heart sold their song and McCain paid to use it. By law McCain could still use the song.
