The Complete Malcolm X on DVD: http://malcolmxfiles.blogspot.com/

Malcolm X: No, this is done by those who are guilty of all those things that you just -- the counterpart of all those things you just mentioned. The white people who are guilty of white supremacy try and hide their own guilt by accusing the Honorable Elijah Muhammad of teaching black supremacy when he tries to uplift the mentality, the social, mental, economic condition of black people in this country.

And Jews, who have been guilty of exploiting the black people in this country, economically, civically, and otherwise, hide behind -- hide their guilt by accusing the Honorable Elijah Muhammad of teaching -- of being anti-Semitic, simply because he teaches our people to go into business for ourselves, and try and take over the economic leadership in our own community.

And this other thing -- white supremacy, anti-Semitism, and what was the other one?

Dr. Kenneth Clark: And hatred...

Malcolm X: And hatred... and since the white people collectively have practiced the worst form of hatred against Negroes in this country -- and they know that they are guilty of it -- now, when the Honorable Elijah Muhammad begins to -- comes along and begins to list the historic deed, the historic attitude, the historic behavior of the white man in this country toward the black people in this country, again, the white people are so guilty, and they can't stop doing these things, to make Mr. Muhammad appear wrong, so they hide their wrong by saying that he is teaching hatred.

History is not hatred. Actually we are Muslims because we believe in the religion of Islam. We believe in one God. We believe in Muhammad as the apostle of God. We practice the principles of the religion of Islam, which mean prayer, charity, fasting, brotherhood. And the Honorable Elijah Muhammad teaches us that since the Western society is deteriorating -- it has become overrun with immorality -- that God is going to judge it, and destroy it, and the only way black people who are in this society can be saved is to not integrate into this corrupt society but separate ourselves from it, reform ourselves, lift up our moral standards, and try and be godly, instead of trying... try and integrate with God, instead of trying to integrate with the white man, or try and imitate God, instead of trying to imitate the white man.

  • @NSnake91 Neither would there been any Elijah without Malcolm. Brother Malcolm, a true reincarnation of an African warrior,, built the NOI. He believed more in Elijah than Elijah believed in himself. He even wanted to stay with him. Elija did some good things, but the fact that he chose to preach no fornication, and suspended and isolated people for it (!), and yet himself fornicated with a handful of teenagers, makes him just another fool, for the black people. Malcolm was different.

  • @michaelyouth

    Secondly;

The claim that Elijah Muhammad had Malcolm killed is not only unsubstantiated, but wholly false. If you listen to Elijah Muhammad's tapes it is clear that he wanted nothing to do with Malcolm. Elijah was not a mafia don, he was a holy man who did not believe in provocative violence against whites, much less his own student. Now those who were under him definately wanted him dead and carried it out.

I don't deny that he was relieved at his death however.

  • @michaelyouth

Brother, whether you believe that Elijah Muhammad is divine and his NOI is true is absolutely irrelevant. But what can't be done by any black man, nationalist or otherwise, is to revile Elijah Muhammad. Don't forget, there would be no Malcolm X had it not been for Elijah. There would be no black liberation theology had it not been for Elijah, and the militant element of the Civil Rights movement and Black Panthers would not have existed had it not been for Elijah!

  • @NSnake91 The NOI is based on a lie. Elijah Muhammad preached truth and awakend Malcolm, who built the NOI. Elijah Poole himself was not divine, you probably know about his literal screw ups, with his secretarees.. After that, he wanted to kill Malcolm X. He put all the attention on Malcolm, by publicly humiliating him, so that his screw ups, wouldn't be covered that extensively in the media. Poor Malcolm wanted to say with Elijah, even after he knew about his screw ups(!)

  • @lilced16 Think about it.....why would they

  • Its sad tht the school system dnt preach about this man

  • @T74G

And Farrakhan even admitted on the Donohue show that the main priority for the NOI is the Black man in America; to wake him up from his psychological and religious oblivion. After that is accomplished, whites as well as others would be able to join.

  • @T74G

In order to understand the meaning and origin of the NOI you must understand the context of the African American; a people who have been robbed psychologically as well as religiously. A people who were and still are packed in ghettos and left for dead by a government that sees them as a blight to so-called "civilized society".

Now the NOI was created to fill that void for the Black man in America. That void was both religious as well as psychological.

  • @NSnake91

so may i ask cause i want to enhance my awareness as a practice, is the NOI a "black movement" if you will or a religious organization? I undesstand that Islam is a religion open to peoples of all colors, based on that fact that there is Masjid where i live and i see all colors of people whom are Muslim entering the building. What would you say NOI is? Black empowerment movement, or religious organization? appreciate your answer....

  • For a black man to insult the Nation of Islam, it is a reflection of either his ignorance or his stubbornness. The Nation of Islam has done for black people in America between 1952-75 what all the black churches couldn't do since the so-called Emancipation Proclamation! And I'm a Christian, so there is no bias in this comment. They picked up and reformed the most decadent, rejected and despised of black men and women; the same ones that the black churches rejected since they weren't holy enough!
