Staying Together is a web series that takes place within the film, "Let's Stay Together," by joshua bee alafia. In Episode Two, we reflect on the effects of slavery and the lost sense of identity through middle passage trauma. We begin the inquiry of the root of our departure from strong family units.   • @gcass672 thanks so much for your participation! you saw the effects of vietnam on the family, and destruction of community as heroine came into the urban sector in high volumes, i'm sure. we are living in an extension of that destruction from the late sixties/early 70s. i remember seeing vets sleeping on the sidewalk, and learning at a young age that one could be disassociated from society easily with substance abuse.

  • I LOVE THIS .. i'm 17 and looking toward college and this is making appreciate intelligent black people. I'm also in the process of going natural to see my natural roots and this is pure inspiration. God bless you all... Hopefully there is still hope for love to create a holistic family.. the song at the end is beautiful
