  • the measure of a man is his unflappability - but this comes not from hardening and defending against painful thoughts, emotions and experiences but by being willing to experience it all.

Seems to me that this is not so different from the 'love until it hurts' approach which Ken describes as the feminine approach.

  • this is the problem of umanity

  • I care less and less for what he says, but his hand gestures have me coming back for more.

  • There is no such thing as "enlightenment". When are ppl gonna get this? Who is the arbiter of this socalled "state" anyway? The one claiming to have it?

The concept of "enlightenment" is just another egocentric authoritarian power trip that judges, separates, makes the misfortunate unenlightened the "OTHER" and thereby sets the "other" into a position to be maligned, denigrated, marginalized, ad infinitum........

The great truth is we are all nobody Step out of the game and own it. FREEDOM!

  • ken is probably one of the most knowing people in the planet.

  • this guy is 62. I thought he was like 40 or something!

  • Speaking of licking and sucking wounds... it looks like a lot of women there would be willing to suck off Ken Wilber.

  • IF that is going on, then I basically agree...one basic problem for integral is that a lot of integral is really a hyped up orange-rational or green-pluralistic? I think so...as such, one way to say it is that they did not integrate a healthy blue...which has a moral code to it. And, even healthy orange has an ethical requirement in order to be healthy...doctors and therapists have a kind of modern science ethical code with patients. They have to search out where they are stuck...as we all do!

  • Buddhists are also "broken" as are Christians...some of the best teachers were/are broken. Hard to assess things in this way. Start with brokenness, then work from there maybe.

  • Amritanandamayi Ma does this kissing of wound even today. In a documentary I saw, she actually licks the wounds of a lepper.

  • @claudelebel55 that's exactly right, it's not very different at all. The difference is only in the practice.
