The law will never make men free, it is men that have to make the law free.
The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Good people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad people will find a way around the laws.
Nobody has a more sacred obligation to obey the law than those who make the law.

  • even the information is wrong but should be implemented

  • ....contd from previous post.......

, decided not to record his

vote, a remark to this effect shall be made against the said entry in

Form 17A by the presiding officer and the signature or thumb

impression of the elector shall be obtained against such remark.]

This is the language of the said section in the right Act!

  • Now, coming to the right Act of Law, this kind of thing is actually given in the Act called “Conduct of Election Rules, 1961” and this is the exact language of the Section 49-O in this act :

[49-O. Elector deciding not to vote.-If an elector, after his

electoral roll number has been duly entered in the register of voters

in Form-17A and has put his signature or thumb impression thereon as

required under sub-rule (1) of rule 49L, ......contd. in next post.......

  • At some places some people have also said that these candidates will be banned from standing in elections for a lifetime if this happens.

First of all in the Honourable Constitution of India, there are Articles and Schedules, there are no Sections there!

Another thing, if the reference is to the Article 49, then first of all it has no sub sections like “O” or anything……it is just Article 49, and it is about protection of artistic and historical monuments and places by the State.

  • Let me clear it.

The video you have pointed out here and also many other people say that it is mentioned in Section 49-O of the Indian Constitution that if the number of “no votes” exceed the number of the votes in favour of the winning candidate, then the election will be cancelled, re-election will be held and the contestants of the election held earlier will not be allowed to be candidates for this re-election.

  • Hello friends, you have the wrong information, and I can understand the hard work you have done in making this video, but you are doing more wrong to the nation than right by propagating this, this whole thing is nothing but a rumour, a hoax.
