it really wasn't THAT funny, was it?

David Troughton apparently had no formal training. However, I agree he is sensational! In this he reminds me somewhat of Berkoff - the mercenary school of acting!
-
I wish the powers that be let him portray his father's Doctor in the Big Finish audio dramas!

David Troughton's an excellent actor. He was supurb in Thomas Hardy's A tragedy of two ambitions, Wessex Tales from 1972, where he played a curate with his brother who was played by John Hurt.
I'm lucky to have it on DVD, amongst David's finest role it is.

I wish they would bring him to Doctor Who to play his dad's role for an episode or two. He was in the episode midnight as one of the tram passengers.

Hilarious ....! BTW I saw a very young D Troughton onstage as Lollio in "The Changeling" (also Robert Lindsay, Brian Cox, etc) and can remember his performance clearly still, 30 years on.

He's a total star. But for me the definitive D. troughton performance is as Bob Buzzard in A Very Peculiar Practice. If you haven't seen it, go grab a torrent, you won't be disappointed :)

What a legend! He was my old drama teacher in year 9 at school, was a brilliant actor and teacher, keep seeing him on TV from time to time, he made drama fun!
I'm ashamed to say that drama was the only GCSE that I failed :/
I'm sure if I had "Mr. Troughton" for GCSE drama I would have passed though :)

Looks like a great time was being had! Just saw him in the new Doctor Who, a lovely performance, I enjoyed it hugely. :)
He sounds identical to his Dad. How nice.
