it's not illegal to take pictures of trains. some MTA police will still give you a hard time, but it is completely legal to photograph the equipment.

This was the last Metro North painted FL-9 running at the time, and didn't have too much longer in service. Why put new decals on a unit that has its days numbered...

Legal in Philadelphia too kinda but then SEPTA hates it because they think anyone with a camera out in or on their stations is a terrorist taking pictures of things to bomb.

That looks like an FL9 I used to see often in Dover Plains when I was kid.

its called an FL-9
its not far in my knowlede but does that fl9 have a 3rd rail shoe(daul mode operated)

It looks like it retained the shoe bar on the rear truck but I believe all of these have been made inacapable of 3rd rail at this point.

Because you can cross the tracks there to get back inside the indoor part of the museum
