Tom Hufford — one of SABR's 16 founding members who met in Cooperstown, New York, on August 10, 1971 — talks about his role in starting the organization during the 41st annual Society for American Baseball Research convention on July 8, 2011, in Long Beach, California. Hufford's specialty is biographical research. An architect by trade, he was a consultant on the Atlanta Braves design team for the construction of Turner Field in the mid-1990s.
