In this video, Mahalo's Photoshop expert Justin Zagri demonstrates how to fix a background mask to better blend a foreground and background together.

Photoshop Tutorial - Fix Background Mask
---------------------------------------------------------------------

In the previous tutorial of this movie poster series, the basics of making a mask and adding elements within it was covered. Now that you've added something like a new sky to your image, you'll want to blend it in with the rest of the background. You can do this by perfecting the mask of the image foreground to the sky so it looks natural, then by changing the color of the sky to match the ground.

Since the mask you want to perfect is a pixel mask, you're going to use Brush Tools.

Choose the Brush Tool from the left side tool bar and make sure your foreground color is Black. Then make sure the layer and mask you want to work on is selected.

You may wish to change the Size of the brush by adjusting it in the top options panel.

With your settings in place, slowly move the Brush along the edge of the chosen mask to help blend it in with the rest of the photograph.
