The historical society in Detroit put a stop to the demolition of the old Tiger Stadium, so they left 1/4 of the stadium up as you can see in this video. It was eerie being here because it was just so deserted and there was nobody around.
why tear down hgistorical buildings down doesn't anything matter anymore i am from montreal and i witnessed the old forum turned into a movie theater and entertainment complex for the love of pete nothing matters anymore those historical building should stay up or don ate them to the city and let them turn into local baseball teams and let the tradition continue on look at maple leaf gardens went the same like the forum only they are keeping the ice and seats atleast some of them
I took a trip down to the corner on my birthday back in October of 2006 just to take pics of the park (after they'd announced they would be tearing it down). It took them a while to actually start the demolition...it's sad that nobody was able to step in and put a stop to it...they were only able to delay it.
Anyway, nice video. Hard to watch...but glad you posted!
@lanterisalvatore As much as everyone loved Tiger Stadium, are you willing to foot the bill to maintain it when no one is even using it?
