The first and last minutes of this video feature effects (reverb & delay) from the Roland Fantom X6, but the rest is straight, dry SX. Its strings patches with internal chorus engaged are reminescent of the string synths of the 70's like the Solina. Not a bad little synth for the money. No sliders, but all programming is done by selecting a switch for the parameter to edit and changing the value with an "alpha" dial. Not sure if the patches in this synth are factory or not as I was not original owner (nor do I still own this synth).

  • Could the parameters be controlled by an external midi controller?

    Nice demo

  • The SX210 does not have MIDI. However, the SX240 does, but it probably does not have continuous controllers. Don't quote me on that, because I do not know.

  • So Fucking Great!!!

    Best Part in: 0:40

  • "Not sure if the patches in this synth are factory or not as I was not original owner (nor do I still own this synth)."

Most of them are factory, if not all. I loved this machine. Pretty much a sound of it's own. The 'WIND' sound is one of the best there is, analog wise, I think!

  • 0:28 - 0:38 sounds sooo awesome haha

  • I need the parameters for the first sound! I wanna use it on my sx 240!

  • very nice and surprisingly lively sounds...

  • Lovely sounds-thanks for the demo!

  • Tell us more about the 4-voice mode... is there control over the two-DCOs? Does it sound much thicker in this mode?

  • I own a sx240.these synths have some of the best strings and awsome chours.can do excellent resonace bass.lfo can go everywhere plus you got a super super FAT dual mode that takes any patch up in fatness a split as well.Thes sx 210 and sx 240 synths are very powerfull ,musical ,and underrated

  • this synth is easy as pie to use.the alpha dial is not like other alpha dial's like on the juno2's.the only difference on the sx 210 vs the sx 240 is on the sx210 you need to pess the button of what your editing.very simple.the kawai sx240 takes one step away.you use a arrow to slect with a lead on the top of the synth what your editing.anyone half familar with with synths would find there way in a mater of seconds with these.
