A news package from a series about the deadly mix of alcohol and high speeds that seems quite prolific in Northern Wisconsin. This package's focus is on the tragic death of Chad Laffin, who died in an accident after consuming alcohol and then going snowmobiling. His friend and fellow off road enthusiast, Randy Curtis, tells how the event affected so many people around Chad.
The third installment in NewsChannel 7's investigative report on the topic. The station worked along side CBS 2 of Chicago and their award winning reporter, Dave Savini.
Produced at WSAW Newschannel 7 in Wausau, Wisconsin. Written and voiced by Mikel Lauber, photographed and edited by Erik Cieslewicz.
Anyone that knows Chad Laffin knew he drank WAY too much WAY too often., His love for booze over love of his family cost him his life. Whether he was hammered driving his truck, his Stang or his sleds or ATVs, it didn't matter. Always sloshed to the gills with his pals.
Maybe some of his drunken friends wil learn from his accident, but likely not. That very same winter they were out there, as drunk as him, blasting down trails and putting themselves and others at risk.
