restore it with itunes which will probably crash. Apple versus android. ALL android phones have this built in and it CANNOT be uninstalled and CANNOT be deactivated as the app over rides the gps functionality none of which apple does.

@jsummonsm you are really clever... i used my friend's number to call mine and even send message to the one who took my phone, and .. now the one who took my phone turned my iphone off, and... im hoping to take it back.. i should have done the same as you did.. i was too scared when i lost it:( but im still frustrated for not installing those tracking apps

if the battery is dead there's no point to the app, duh, the phone uses so much power you got a couple days, or a couple hours depending on what settings you've got and how many people text, message, e-mail, IM, call or whatever.

I just lost my iphone today and nobody answered all day. There was no tracking app installed. I sent a message from a random number that I knew wasn't in the contacts. It read "This phone is now being tracked by AT&T. If you find this phone please return it to the nearest AT&T store. Your help is greatly appreciated and will be rewarded. Best Regards, AT&T"
Within a minute the person called and we were able to get the phone back. They would have taken it for sure. Give it a shot.
