A Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl music video. No footage from Dead Man's Chest, so only spoilers for the first movie. The song is "Shiver my Timber" from the Muppet's Treasure Island. Done on Windows Movie Maker with my own ripped dvd footage. I think it came out rather good.

  • How did you rip the movie to your computer? I've tried and can't to it.

  • @1minisam I used a program at the time called "The Gordian Knot". But if you decide to use it, I'd recommend finding a really good tutorial, because the program is not really user friendly, and quite difficult to figure out. I struggled so much just to get this one movie ripped, that I never used it again.

  • what's the meaning of "shiver me timbers"????

  • @loveeddy99 Its just a pirate slang phrase. It shows extreme surprise or awe.

  • @Aureawolf oh thanx! so "shiver me timbers" is the name of this song? :)

  • @loveeddy99 Yup. Or "Shiver My Timbers" I believe is how its listed on the movie's soundtrack...not sure about that though. But yes, its the opening song from the movie "Muppets Treasure Island", a great movie that I totally recommend checking out if you haven't seen it!

  • POTC AND Muppet Treasure Island??? You, Sir, are genius! My two fave pirate films!

  • You know a little factoid? The guy who composed the music for Muppet Treasure Island was a German composer by the name of Hans Zimmer. The SAME Hans Zimmer that composed such modern films such as the Nolan Batman movies, The Da Vinci Code, and the Pirates of theCarribian Movies. That's what I call 'full circle'.

  • @loveeddy99 "shiver me timbers" does in fact denote surprise. it comes fromw one of two possible sorces historicly (no one knows for certain which) Either from the "shivers" (or splinters) that result from cannon fire blowing through a ships hull, or from the way the the "timber" or lumber of the ships construction would "shiver" if it struck an un charted reef. Either of course could be VERY surprising. I tend towards the un charted reef theory personaly.

  • And Power Rangers!

  • @loveeddy99 The deepest meaning of "shiver my timbers" comes from nautical slang. A mast was a timber and in battle if it were to be hit it would leave a boat immobilized. To shiver a timber was a move that would most likely win the battle. This is why it was used as a expression of surprise and awe.

  • Thanks!

  • @loveeddy99 Literally it means breaking something apart.
