Director Spike Jonze delivers a stunningly original comedy that seamlessly blends fictional characters and situations with the lives of real people: obsessive orchid hunter John Laroche (Cooper), New Yorker journalist Susan Orlean (Streep), Hollywood screenwriter Charlie Kaufman (Cage), and his twin brother, Donald (also Cage). As Charlie struggles to adapt Orlean's best-selling book "The Orchid Thief," he writes himself into his own movie. The various stories crash into one another exploding into a wildly imaginative film.

This is, without a doubt, my absolute favorite move...ever. As someone commented below, the bad part about watching this movie is that all other movies will suck in comparison. After watching this, I find myself greatly disappointed by most movies. The fact that this movie did not win best screen play is a testament to the fact that the oscars really don't necessarily reward brilliance...they reward hype...I don't care -- this is the greatest movie ever made....FUCKING BRILLIANT
I love this movie! Only one thing, that I don't like in it! The NC twins! Nooo....pls. I love him, but it's a bit strange for me! But this is only my opinion! Meryl (<3) is FANTASTIC in this movie!!! Just like Chris Cooper!
do stuff you think your character likes to do or something. i write stories too and i encounter this problem a lot. part of being a good writer is being able to solve these imaginative problems. and its normal. ask any professional writer. good luck.
Hi Qnapsack. My character is in the centre of a city that is under attack, but I can't visualise the scene. I can't put myself there. I can't believe in the fiction. Maybe I should paint pictures instead. I've reached an impass.
