There *are* videos from inside the shuttle cockpit.
"you have to be there to know" is complete nonsense. How do I know the moon is round if I've never been there? How do I know clouds are made of water if I've never sampled them? How do we know Mars is red if no one has been there?
Etc. It's a ridiculous argument.

I will never forget for space shuttles. I remember only 8 years of them but they are the most advanced space ships ever...and how I said, i will never forget...Now, when they're "dead" I still have one thing what I can do when I remember on them - switch on the PC and play SSM2007...thanks for this sim...

Hey guys I just bought the game but when I register it IT SENDS ME BACK TO THE DESKTOP WHENEVER IT LOADS! Help please! I already sent a support mail to the support email

Is there anything as detailed as this for the Apollo missions? That would be a lot of fun as well.

@darnocslew For a pure, 100% realistic space shuttle experience, this wins hands down, I don't doubt it. Orbiter has a lot more variety in locales and vessels, but each space vehicle in orbiter doesn't have NEARLY 1/10th the depth this has.
Hmm... Project Apollo may be an exception... I've yet to learn to fly that thing! lol.

@Boy75402 You can get a sense of it, you can know a lot of things, but there's still a huge difference in-between actually experiencing it in real life - sitting in the cockpit of an actual space shuttle, launching into LEO on the wings of a legacy and bringing it home - and sitting at a computer playing make-believe.
I'm a huge fan of simulators, don't get me wrong, they're awesome and you can learn how to do it from a sim - but it's NOT the same experience. AT ALL

@darnocslew They both have their strenghts and weaknesses. Orbiter is good because you can go to other planets, download a ton of real and fictional addons etc. SSM is designed just to simulate the Shuttle as accurately as possible. As far as simulating the Shuttle this beats Orbiter hands down. Not even Orbiter's Space Shuttle Ultra comes close to this. Don't get me wrong, I love Orbiter, its a great piece of (free) software. But as for simulating the Shuttle, SSM easily wins.

@kosmot199 na i haven't but i'm going to look it up right away
ok i'm a real lover of space games and anything that has to do with it
but now is my question
i tried alot of simulators like lock on and stuff but i never succeeded in learning every procedure
now this looks quite awesome and i would like to try it but is it really hard to learn?
because i got limited time to play

@Urban202 this game is indeed VERY in depth. The good thing is that there are great resources on their website, and there is an intuitive learning system that literally points to every switch you are required to click while using the simulation.
