This patient had prior strip surgery at another facility by another Doctor. After that procedure, his hair loss was compounded by a huge strip scar, pluggy and straight hairline which looked unnatural especially when grown out.

At the time of presenting to Dr Umar, his NW 6 area needed coverage, he needed density added to the previously transplanted area, and his largely empty crown filled.

He wanted his hairline changed and had a picture of a movie star whose hairline he wanted replicated.

He wanted his huge strip scar grafted as well.

He plans to keep his hair short.

The procedure is commonly called Body Hair Transplantation (BHT). Dr Umar uses BHT in patients that have a relative or absolute lack of traditional donor sources. In this case, the patient had extensive hairloss and wanted all areas covered. After his first surgery, the amount of work needed for his repair and stated goal required more hair than is available in the traditional head donor areas alone. Dr Umar carried out the repair using about leg hair, beard hair, nape hair and some traditional head donor. The procedure was completed in 2 major sessions. He still has 1 more session to go. The result shown at the video was recorded at 2 years after his first surgery and 9 months after the last repair session. With 1 more procedure to go, the patient's life is already transformed from the progress made thus far to that of fulfillment and confidence. As the patient states, "I have gotten my life back"...

The technique by which Dr Umar performs BHT is called Single Follicle Extraction and Transfer (SFET). This is his version of the procedure commonly referred to as Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). yes, but this is not dr.umar's fault. dr.umar is repairing the work done by the previous clinic, who put the hairline too low. Otherwise he would have marks all over his forehead, this was probably the better choice.
