Another succesful attempt to find and record Venus in broad daylight in the morning sky with my 2nd ETX-70 equatorially mounted [but undriven here!] from my backyard. When touched the mount is shaky but with the Fuji E550 camera 'floating' above the eyepiece fair results obtained. This especially so in the video extracted stills showing Venus approaching dichotomy or 50% phase.
But that is not the 884 feild tripod where could i purchase a tripod like this?

@josephafa Just had an old tripod to hand with adjustable head - scope setup in 'equatorial' mode [via tripod thread on scope base] to track objects in sky better.

@josephafa correct - scope inclined to my latitude and polar axis aimed at Polaris on sturdy tripod;-)

totally off topic but would it be good to switch from a Celestron Astromaster 114 EQ to a Celestron 114 LCM Computerized or Meade ETX-70?

@Amatoposters For stargazing aperture counts and 114mm better than 70mm but goto on any scope is nice;-)
