I've been on a calorie restrictive diet for a few years due to insufficient funds and 100,000 in student loans. I feel like death and a lot of days I nearly faint. I eat about 900 calories a day if I'm lucky. I swear it eats your brain. I had an IQ, in high school of 157. In college I ate 3500 cals a day and felt amazing. Graduating with my degrees in biology and chemistry was the worst thing I've done in life. My nutrient levels are high/normal in my blood except I have constant hypoglycemia

the funny part is these people are still gonna die.

I follow this diet some what. I like to run and lift weights so. I eat as healthy as I can till 3pm then I stop eating except for fruit or veggies if I'm really hungry. I'm 35 , 5' 5 113lb . I feel great.

I absolutely agree that restricting your calories boost your health as long as your nutritional needs (ie Protein, Fibre, Vits & Mins) are met. I dieted on a very low calorie diet of 500 calories aday where I had to drink 3 protein shake meals aday. I was starting to develope a cold but as soon as I started the diet the cold cleared up within 48 hours where normally it would of been with me for 2 weeks.

Plus they show them frying food here, frying food, changes oils compositon causing it to be a higer factor of oxidative stress due to the carcinagens created from the frying process. This is not condusive to slowing aging either even with calorie restriction.

while the part of 'Calories in' not calories expended is what matters in extending maximum lifespan and slowing aging is true, its also true that hard exercise strengthens the body systems so much that the systems are then toughened to resist the aging process more and cope with more stress form all sources!Thats why hard exercise should be done 3 days a week and then rest to avoid any excessive oxidation.

Yes you need fat to live, and they do have fat. Michael has been living on CR for 10 years or so and is perfectly healthy. At 38 years of age (this video is old) he seems to be doing pretty good ;)

thses people on that diet dont know enough about health, they just rely on calroie restricition as a main deterent, I noticed immidiately that they were chomping on what appeared to be turkey roll. If they want the most nutrition with the fewest calroies they out to be eating egg white and fish only. And the measuring tactics go to far, just east natural and dont eat between meals and abide by theres no room for junk! Also they need to balnce that restriction with hard exercise!

Michael is extremely knowledgeable about CR science and food. They do eat egg whites and fish. 'Calories in' not calories expended is what matters in extending maximum lifespan. Michael in this video has been doing CR for almost 10 years...
