Cellulose synthesis and microfibril formation are carried out by cellulose-synthase-complexes located at the plasma membrane. One of cellulose synthases, CesA6 is visualized in transgenic plants expressing yellow fluorescent protein (YFP) fused with CesA6 in null cesa6 (prc1-1) background. YFP-CesA6 move along linear trajectories in locally parallel but various orientations. The movie is played at 10 frames per second. Bar = 5 microns.
