  • I have yet to hear a better interpretation of this work than Bolet's. At 1:48, when the fugue theme returns, he gives equal weight to the fugue and choral themes, almost as if three hands were playing, creating a magical climax to the whole work. Too many players emphasise the fugue theme and lose the choral.

  • @anchesgo Your comment indicates that you have true musical sensibilities. Most pianists do not understand this passage, and those who do understand it rarely have the technique to execute it. I consider this to be one of the finest pieces ever written for piano. Thanks for the comment.

  • Incredible, the sound he produces and the lyric way of playing. Bolet is truelly an artist, probably being one of the best pianists ever. So sad that only few videos are available in which you can actually see him playing!

  • magnificent!!

  • My favorite interpretor of Cesar Franck! I love his sensibility and color... pure magic!

  • ça va bien trop vite ! C'est joué comme du Bach sans aucune respiration .

  • always is perfect!
