c^2 should be on the left side of the equation and a^2 and b^2 should be on the right side. This equation tells us the relation with respect to the hypotenuse, so reading it left to right implies the c^2 should be read first. It's not incorrect, but it's better taught when you say it this way.

i learned this in sixth grade, but i wanted to know whether or not our teacher left out anything. guess not. i like Pythagros--smart guy!
