Dr. Michael Willett holds doctorate and bachelor's degrees in pharmacy from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed an adult internal medicine residency at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City. Willett worked for several years as a clinical pharmacist in a community-based hospital before pursuing a career in clinical research and regulatory affairs within the pharmaceutical industry. He worked as a clinical research associate and study manager at Marion Laboratories (now part of Sanofi) and Bristol-Myers Squibb and as a senior scientist and operations director at Health & Sciences Research, Inc., a contract research organization (CRO). Willett founded his own 72-bed Phase I-II clinic and contract research organization, Advanced Biomedical Research, Inc. (ABR), in 1994 and built it into a successful company which he sold in 2008. He founded Ready Clinical, LLC in 2009 as a clinical and regulatory CRO that partners with other CROs and research clinics and provides consulting services to biopharmaceutical and medical device companies. In addition to his pharmacist training, Willett holds a certification in US regulatory affairs. Dr. Willett has been involved in more than 400 clinical trials across all phases and has played a role in bringing dozens of medicines to market and to patients over the past several decades.
