  • so, i think it's better running XP on the mini... But what about another OS like Ubuntu or OSX? I personally use Ubuntu 9.04 on mine, but i want a dual boot since the Ethernet port doesn't work in ubuntu.

  • yes, XP over vista. As for OS X, I'm not sure, but I think it's doable (though not perfect). Ubuntu and Jolicloud should both be solid.

  • For all those who want to know: I have Windows 7 on my HP Mini now with everything working except

    1) Microphone

I even got the XP Mouse pad driver to install so you can scroll with it. Works just fine with 1 GB RAM, but I upgraded to 2 GB. If you want more info, just Personal Message me.

  • Thanks for the update, good to know. Weird that, of all things, the microphone would not work

  • hey thanks for the vid. did u guys upgrade your RAM before you installed this? please reply a.s.a.p

  • nope, this was stock

  • How can I share my internet with other PC's in the house????

  • HOW IS IT SOO FAST!!???

  • how much hard drive space do you have?

  • Thanks

  • Hi, upgrading to Home Premium shouldn't effect anything. Drivers will all be the same, so just get them off of HP's support site if you need them.

  • Did you find a way to fix the microphone problem? I've got the Mini that came with Windows 7 Starter, and I want to upgrade to Home Premuim, but I'm afraid of things like this - having issues with things going wrong and whatnot...

  • @ashneilroy

Its actually alot faster then having XP on the thing i recomend the upgrade and if you dont want to spend on an external USB CD Drive i recomend looking up a USB THUMB DRIVE TUTORIAL to install Windows 7.

  • Im getting mine tomorrow :)

  • hulu looks a bit laagy

  • suprisingly windows 7 runs well on the hp 2133 with via processors. the only lag is boot up...but once the system is up, everything is responsive...browsing, etc.
