  • It's a shame that both Orca 1 and 2 are gone .

Universal should have taken better care of Orca 1

  • That boat would be worth a fortune now, if they had of kept her!

  • What kind of boat is the Orca?

  • @JP5466 Those bastards!

  • @flamingcartman312 The Orca 1 used to be in the pond at Universal Studios Jaws ride in LA for a while. In the mid-late 80's it was destroyed when they tried to lift it out of the water and the thing broke apart. This was a horrible mistake on Universal's part. The Orca was a piece of movie history and should have been preserved, not left to decay. Still kills me when I think about this.

  • They dislike the movie because nobody was going into the water anymore! They were afraid of the shark!

Because the movie is so good

  • @sj1778 What happened to Ocra 1?

  • so sad thats all thats left of orca

  • @IRI5HJ4CK they have one at the Smithsonian in D.C.

  • how the hell could they let that happen????? It should be in the Smithsonian...what a waste.

  • I have the complete BBC programme where this clip has come from. Very very rare...Lynn and Susan Murphy are great people also. I was privileged to meet them some years ago.

  • @jt8131 I visited that beach and noticed the same. Best I can guess is the paint used was not the highest quality since it only needed to stick a few months. That top paint sluffed off over time and exposed the primer coat. I can assure you though, ORCA2 (or what little is eft of it) is the real deal.
