This was the first single released from the Twilight of Idols album, which was also the bands last album.
After Dee Harriss quit the band in 1982 Alan Darby and Troy Tate joined the band, after a few months Troy left to pursue a solo carreer and the band recorded the last album in France with Zues B Held producing.

  • This song is pretty awful really....I mean the lyrics are crass beyond belief!!! I dont know maybe Im wrong...I thought the earlier guise of Fashion was pretty much ok...but after Mulligan left and was replaced by Tate then by Darby the band lost its credibility, partly because Mulligan had a distinctive voice...at least thats my opinion...forgive me if I have offended anyone

  • @khorrumg i think you mean dave harris, mulligan played the keyboards, troy tate and alan darby joined at the same time to replace him and yes your right it wasnt the same after dave left

Dee Harris was the vocalist on Fabrique. Mulligan was an integral part of the band when they released Eye Talk and the album Twilight of Idols. I believe this sound was more poppy and Fabrique is a classic album in my view.

  • @khorrumg Surely they lost something after Harris left, they should have carried on with the Streetplayer sound - the synth sounds/production on that are very advanced for the time - hard funk.

  • Still like this one but not as good as the original stuff. God this band were awesome!!

  • alan darby my uncle, had any drinks lately mate?

  • TWILIGHT OF IDOLS was one of the greatest unknown New Wave albums of the mid-80's (spec. 1984). I got the cassette on a whim one day because the cover art looked cool (not something I often do). Went NUTS over it the first time I heard it & the tape got played to death (the one with the remixed versions of the songs on Side 2). Sure would like to find this on CD. Talented band...they deserved success.

  • cool thanks

  • Great song. This band was amazing!
