California's highest court struck down the will of the people of California to ban same-sex marriage, Thursday.
The state's supreme court justices ruled 4-3 against a popular marriage act passed by Californian voters in 2000. California voters overwhelmingly passed the Defense of Marriage Act, or Proposition 22, by more than 61 percent.
But the court's latest ruling overturns that voter-approved ban on same-sex unions, saying it was unconstitutional.

Brian, I just saw you memorialized in that "Mormon Proposition" film. How does it feel to be outed as one of the clowns who aspires to become a polygamous, autocratic big daddy in space in your afterlife?
You, "The Prophet," gays into S&M have in common a perverted fetish for offering blind obedience to big daddies.
You should get some psychological help. All that money you took from hardworking families for this pointless endeavor will plague you with guilt.
May God have mercy on your soul.

This fight is ALSO about the right to FREEDOM OF RELIGION. I attend a church that has offers its sacrament of marriage to straights AND gays. However, under Prop 8, only the marriages performed between straights will be recognized with the official approval of a state license. This unequal treatment is NOT FAIR, and it's not fair for what is very clearly a RELIGIOUS reason.

Furthermore, a conceived child has the BIOLOGY of a man and woman, but not automatically the blessings of a home with each parent contributing in raising him. The birthright of EVERY child is a present mother AND father working in tandem to nurture him. And many gay couples have children in the house from a previous hetero union. Not only do these kids have to cope with divorce issues, but also unique gay household issues as well. How is this fair for them? It is not.

My dear Justi, I really thought we had a breakthrough in understanding each others basis of thought. I can see you are more interested in demonizing your opponent instead of reasoned political exchange. Shame, you are twice my age and still can't handle a civil discussion on conflicting views. Lacing words with slanders is the cowards way when one has the weaker argument. Rather intolerant of you, I'd say. Like it or not I am the child advocate, you are an advocate for unbridled actions.

You really are an ignorant bigot aren't you ! Because only heterosexual unions can produce children. Therefore EVERY child already does have a mother and a father. And so only children who have either been abandoned or put up for adoption might be placed into the home of a gay couple. But I suppose you would rather have them remain in the orphanage until they're adults rather than have that. You are the one who is selfish. And as far as bad examples go, your's truly does typify ignorant bigotry.

Because personal freedoms stop at the shores of trespass. It is EVERY child's birthright to claim a mother and a father. To sanction gay marriage is to render this ideal officially unimportant, and trespasses against a child's natural right to such. For too long have the selfish whims of adults scarred the lives of children in wanton actions, separations and needless divorces. Gay marriage points to these bad examples for justification. It's about children's rights.

Since you did watch my video, and know that through our own ignorance we have literally forsaken our sovereignty and traded it in for voluntary servitude, then please tell me: Since you're such a staunch defender of our inherent rights from nature (remember we're not a Theocracy, nor Democracy, but a Republic) then how can you possibly still be so bigoted to think gays haven't the same inherent right to their "pursuit of happiness" to love & marry whomever they want just the same as you & I do ?

Furthermore, I am a staunch defender for rights bestowed upon us by the Creator. I resent rights being chipped away from us left and right. But it is so because the voting pool trades their birthright for a mess of porage every time things get a bit rough. I know what it means to be a citizen. I understand proper citizenship is a lost art. I however disagree with your premise that gays had the right to marry 160 years ago. That is just silly.

Wonder what would have happened if the oh so benevolent American majority got to overturn the court rulings to allow interracial marriage back then...I bet voters were outraged at the end of slavery and segregation, and women voting as well. All of those decisions should have immediately gone to the voters...right? Wrong. Democracy does not mean Mob Rule. Thats why we have the court system. What is popular is not always right. What is right is not always popular.

First, since the government wants to get involved in marriage and bestows upon the legal contract of marriage certain rights, then to allow it to be done selectively (heterosexual couples only please), that's something called "discrimination" and "separate but equal", which didn't work with schools. As for religion, if a religious institution doesn't want to marry a couple in their house of worship, it is nto forced on them. This fight is about the LEGAL definition, not the religious one.
