Well, now it might be a software problem. Is your phone still under warranty? Did it ever recognize the memory card?
You can also try to bend the metal connector by the camera hole on the metal back cover. Be careful though.
You can also try to buy a new back cover. They are pretty cheap, & that might fix it for good.

It is most likely a problem with the battery cover. Try this:
Insert your memory card, & press hard on the back cover & hold it there to see if the phone recognizes your memory card.

Although there is an option to set a password on the 6500 Slide, it doesn't work, no matter what you try.
It will still be accessible despite setting a password. I don't know why the function won't work.???
