Championship Coach Staples shows local boys from Wayne County, Kentucky the three things needed to hang banners.
"Hangin' Banners" is a phrase used to describe actions that help lead to championships and banners in the rafters. For example: "Gilchrist dives on the loose ball! Gets it ahead to Davis for the dunk!! Gilchrist really knows how to hang banners and he showed it right there, diving on that loose ball"
The term originated in Wayne County, Kentucky and was first uttered by experienced middle school assistant coach Kyle Troxell (@kdtroxell) who has hung a few banners himself.
