Which motor is in your Jag?? I heard that the earlier 3 liters were underpowered but the 4.0 where a better choice the body style was very durable and less stamping/ pressing were made compared the series III.
Xj40 is a pretty decent car..

Jaguar is still making cars due in large part to the success of this model.
They are seriously cheap to buy these days in the UK.
The 6 litre V12 might do 10 mpg, but the six cylinder version is economical for a big car. I get about 22mpg in mine.

These are not performance orientated vehicles.
Why anyone would buy an old Jag is baffling . It's gonna break your bank in repairs.

yea these dont go for alot i was lookin at one the other day apsolutly mint ex embassy car £900 quid crazy cheap, thing is its running them these do like 10 mpg

Lucky bastard, Jaguar's from the 80's are pretty expensive here in Finland ^^.
I didn't buy it for performance. I bought it because I like Jags and this one came at a bargain price. I fail to see how these are an example of Britain's industry dying either...
