  • I didn't buy it for performance. I bought it because I like Jags and this one came at a bargain price. I fail to see how these are an example of Britain's industry dying either...

  • How much did you pay for it?

  • £10 :D

  • true! :-)

  • what is true?

  • hate to say this....but that would have to be one of the worst ant-climaxes on you tube.....pathetic

  • er...well what were you expecting from it? the video is only called "1989 Jaguar XJ40 3.6" which is exactly what you get :| idiot

  • Which motor is in your Jag?? I heard that the earlier 3 liters were underpowered but the 4.0 where a better choice the body style was very durable and less stamping/ pressing were made compared the series III.

Xj40 is a pretty decent car..

  • @kidgjc Actually?

  • @MrStevecrow: “These are an example of why Britain's industry fell over and died.”

Jaguar is still making cars due in large part to the success of this model.

    @jmikestell1:

They are seriously cheap to buy these days in the UK.

The 6 litre V12 might do 10 mpg, but the six cylinder version is economical for a big car. I get about 22mpg in mine.

  • These are not performance orientated vehicles.

Why anyone would buy an old Jag is baffling . It's gonna break your bank in repairs.

These are an example of why Britain's industry fell over and died.

  • my uncle has the vandan plas and it runs like it is brand new

  • yea these dont go for alot i was lookin at one the other day apsolutly mint ex embassy car £900 quid crazy cheap, thing is its running them these do like 10 mpg

  • wow £10? what was wrong with it?!

  • aha

  • Lucky bastard, Jaguar's from the 80's are pretty expensive here in Finland ^^.
