  • I think NBC realized that canceling Star Trek in the 60s was one of the biggest mistakes they ever made. Oh well, that just means that all the money went to Paramount instead. hehe

  • i just want to hug him :3

  • i love him so!!

  • Star trek 6 made a nice gesture to the TNG series: Khitomer, Worf's grandfather, talk of a better tomorrow, Kirk using Picard's 'no one' line, and talk of the next crew taking over. TOS was willing to accept TNG and welcomed them as part of the franchise....3 years later Generations slapped TOS in the face and screamed ''ONLY US FROM NOW ON!!'' and killed off a beloved character as the final bow. and so TNG (or the writers atleast) showed that TOS and TNG DON'T belong together. thanks Ricky.

  • @BluRemembra I remember a bit about being 15 & having Spock as a role model. I remember the day that "ST:The Motion Picture" opened. Understand that I did not actually discover ST until 1972, when I was 9. Other than the animated series, there had been no new Trek in 10 years when TMP was released. I was so excited! To this day, watching that movie takes me back to those long ago days, when I was 16. And reminds my of how, at various points in my life, Spock has been an influence.

  • @sbergman27 It may sound pathetic, but I am only fifteen, and Star Trek has not been a part of my life for that long - but I now feel like it has been with me my entire life. I have never experienced anything like it, it is so rich and powerful. If I had to choose one person to be my role model, it would indeed be Spock. I have never admired anyone so much. He is an incredibly strong man, and I hope I can continue to adapt his ways to my own life to the greatest extent possible.

  • @BluRemembra Indeed. It is hard for me to maintain the distinction between Leonard Nimoy, & the Spock character he created. It even takes a bit of an effort to force myself to type "Spock character", since for me, Spock will always be very real. I'm 48. From the time I was 9, Spock has always been my primary role model. Not that I've done well at emulating. But simple emulation is not the goal. I hope, someday, to be so comfortable with myself as Spock in ST6. But still learning!

  • I always wish that he would talk more about Spock's growth as a person over the many years. The Spock of the early series was different from the Spock of TMP. Spock of TWoK was different still. Obviously ST3 was a setback for his growth, & ST4 was a good start at his trying again. ST5 isn't worth mentioning. But in ST6, he had reclaimed, and even surpassed what he had achieved in ST2. The ST6/Unification Spock was a Spock who was comfortable with himself. But who still found a bit more to learn.

  • Jesus those glasses are HUGE! You dont need a windshield while driving :)

  • Words can't describe what this man means to me.

  • A very brilliant man.
