Taiwan Explorer Part 20: Hualien

From Tainan we headed around the south tip of Taiwan into the mountainous East Coast. Hualien is the largest city on the East side, and while in itself not a huge attraction, it is a jumping-off point for the Toroko Gorge. The ride out was great though, dont expect adrenaline, but rather a mellow experience.

I wasn't able to go to Hualien last time I was in Taiwan. I'm glad to be able to see it!

@lesleyburt It's about 2 hours from Taipei, but we came in from Tainan, i think it was about 6-7 hours.

you just got off the train and walked around, maybe a cab ride or two. You don't know this place.
