  • McLean Stevenson was great actor on M*A*S*H. I feel bad that he completely blew his career on this crap.

  • Monty should've let GB guest star on this show. MS + GB = HA HA HA HA

  • That sailor comment about the dog sounds like something he would have said on M*A*S*H.

  • McLean Stevenson was good in two areas: Game shows and talk shows. Commercials was his only way to making money after his failures of a solo sitcom career. Had the McLean Stevenson Show been a daytime talk show, he would have made a comeback. He was a natural in game shows and talk shows. But had the McLean Stevenson show been a talk show, he would have succeeded and perhaps be alive today. God rest his soul.

  • No surprises here - McLean joined NBC at one of the worst possible times in network history. This show was shot down in a sea of low ratings after just four months.

No surprise that Mac Ferguson was a grandfather. McLean was 47 at the time and there are quite a few grandpas (and grandmas) at that age.

  • @richardnixonisgod McLean actually chose to leave MASH. He thought his star was rising and that he could do better. The same with Trapper John.

  • @richardnixonisgod I felt bad too,but McLean did leave M*A*S*H on his own accord to pursue a solo career that never quite panned out,as you well know.

  • McLean left MASH for this?! To paraphrase Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons, "Worst...career move...ever!".

  • @palmercomm - That explains how Monty established a working relationship w/Mac and got his daughter, Joanna Gleason, as part of the cast of Mac's later series, Hello Larry.

  • what the????

  • Thanks, that sounds right. Since you did such a great job, do you know the end of line one? thanks.

  • @rcbrad3 I'm sure the line is :"You know Mac, you age like wine with your own sweet touch and you love it so much you're gonna live it over again."
