I did this instructional vid because i got many requests by people from the forum. The Keihin PWS series is really rare and there is practicly no referance or manual how to tune and maintain them on the internet. So i hope it helps you to get the infos here.

  • hey buddy. right, put all the panels back on the bike and took it for a ride. seemed like it really responded well as soon as i give it a little gas but then it slowed down very quickly. accelaration is very poor and at most i can only get 25-30 mph (before i could get 60 mph). dont know what is wrong but its really annoying. drive belt seems to be making some noise might have to have a look at the exhaust too. any ideas?? and what is that screw on the back of the carb on the float bowl??

  • @joeyspenca if you hear any sound from the transmission check the kick starter mechanism because it wants to stuck ad destroy the whole system. CHeck the belt it should show 18.3mm if its not get a new mitsuboshi belt. The screw on the middle is the idle screw the small to the intake is the air mixture screw. Also try to raise the needle so it gets more fuel . Its important to have the carb run richer because now its cold and there is more oxigen in the air.

  • @warezvz opened the crank case. belt looks fine and so does everything else to be honest. got the carb back out, checked the main jet its a 92. can u send me the link to get the air mixture screw. ive tried looking but cant get anywhere. how do i raise the needle??? vacuum fuel tap seems to be leaking from somewhere

  • @joeyspenca fix the vacuum tap its 11e in a piaggio center and i posted you the links for the screw you need

  • Thanks mate for taking the time to make this video!!!

  • @joeyspenca yes you can get a replacement screw at the piaggio service center it costs 7e and the optimal mix is (if you have the 86 jet) around 1 1/2-1 3/4 turns out from completly screwed in. To order a new screw you just need the chasis number and they get it for you

  • @warezvz tried it after i messaged you and its kicked up now!! when i disassembled the carb, the vacuum hose was not connected. i thought it was strange there was the second hose from the vacuum tap - as it was unconnected i assumed it was a breather. its pretty late so cant really go riding on it yet. think i have to get the mixture right before i get it up running well. glad to know someone else has this bike its beeen driving me mad! will the broken air mixture screw cause problems??

  • @joeyspenca i have the same bike as you have

the vacuum fuel tap goes to the carb the bike wont start if the carb is empty, to fill it up connect the fuel hose to the carb and suck on the vacuum hose so it fills up the carb with the fuel

  • @warezvz hey man, okay. cleaned the carb real good. realised the air mixture screw has a broken head so it cannot be removed and cleaned. anyway ive had to leave that so ive fitted it all back together properly tried to run it and it wont start. quick question though, what bike do you have and does it have a vacuum fuel tap?? does the vacuum port on the carb go to this??
