certain stuff u wanna have a 5 string tho(although i dont lol) its gets to be a pain in the ass to have to tune your bass diff ways n shit and it wont sound as good without a 5 string bass for bands such as 311 and korn.

5 string is so much easier for me.

If you're playing alone then yes, the 5th string might be a "muddy" a little bit. But in the band, it makes the thunder. Trust me as a owner of Stingray5 HH, and with band, the 5th string when playing rock makes a noticable difference. And many times when I get to play a 4 string, I miss the 5th string so I could reach lower tones than open E.

@firsthr yeah its definetly different but i have like bear claw hands so its hard for me to fit my huge fingers int between the strings lol. it reallllly sucks
Actually, 5 strings offer more versatility than a 4 string. It is mainly in preference, it's not a waste of money.

I wish i would have kept that bass cause it would be sweet to have the tuning like the high strings on a 6 string bass so it's E,A,D,G,C cause the low B turns muddy through ANY amp.

they are the same pretty much. 5 strings are a waste of money. just keep or buy a 4 string.

so how hard is it to slap on 5 string vs 4 sting?

@firsthr
Each is different. not harder but different. just more strings. i liked slapping on a 5 string a lot at first but than the low B kept getting in the way.
