  • what lens did you use for this footage?

  • @funkrusher it was a sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6, great lens for the money!

    Sure a Nikon 14-24mm f2.8 would've helped in the low light ;)

  • @HampshireHog63 hey thanks for the reply, I havent had the problem youre experiencing, mine problem turned out to be the both card slots were defected. I had to send it back to Nikon for about 4-5 weeks, got it back and not a problem since. Goodluck!!

  • @lespaul10 I've had a D300s for about a year, not experienced the problem you've had (which I hope is sorted by now!), but have recently noticed that the multi selector isn't working very well when scrolling through images/ selecting focus points - it doesn't like scrolling to the left - works fine to the right. A bit annoying, but can't send the camera off for repair just yet due to impending holidays. Anyone else had this problem?

  • SIGMA 10-20mm F3.5 is the best deal over the Nikon14- 24 mm especially for DX Format.

For other (crop) camera, the 14-24 won't be as wide, to state the obvious.

I know it's only 4mm, but that can make quite a lot of difference at the wide end,

the difference between an effective 15mm & 21mm on a crop camera.

  • Have you had any problems at all with your 300s? Ive had mine for about 2 months now and just recently started having an issue with it. When you fire the shutter, it doesnt record image to card. This has been an itermittant problem that doesnt happen all the time but enough to really aggravate me....especially at 1800 bucks.

Any advice someone might have would be great. The camera is now on its way to NIKON for repair.

  • man... I love this and the other reviews of the Nikon d300s...

However, I am so hooked on the Canon 7D...

Let me wait this out a little longer!!

  • @Kinneballer36 They use different lenses, so unless you have a ton of money at your disposal, i'd go for the D300s - That was the choice I was faced with, I've got tons of Nikon fit lenses I would not have been able to use with the D700.

  • Mhzz.. I'm doubting between the D300s and D700. I wan't a D700+video function...

Canon 5D Mark II looks very tempting but I will wait till Nikon comes up with a D700s or something.

  • man im surprised you didnt get any flickering from the artificial light, great test video!
